AdVance Dental is closed for the next few days. Dr. Vance is attending a class to keep his skills in the realm of saving teeth that are in trouble as sharp as possible. He’s traveled all the way to Canada to learn from a leader in the field. It’s always our hope at AdVance Dental that each time you see us, we’re even better than when you saw us last.

Had a day of training for the office on our new 3D X-Ray machine. This is my scan - seeing the teeth and jawbone in 3 dimensions helps us do better dentistry through better planning and a deeper understanding of someone’s oral condition that you can get from 2D X-Rays alone.

AdVance Dental is looking for a front desk team member. Job duties include answering phones, scheduling patients, being the lead on insurance, billing/accounts receivable, help with back office duties (assisting, turning over rooms, processing instruments) as needed. You would be joining an experienced team at St. Vincent's Hospital downtown campus.

Experience with filing insurance claims, verifying benefits, looking up details of coverage, etc is preferred. Back office/assisting experience a huge plus. Must be open to learning new things and being a team player. Experience with Dentrix and Dexis not required but preferred.

Feeling a little groggy and achey after getting my Moderna booster last night, but overall not too bad. A small price to pay to protect my staff and patients. I’m clearly a sucker for the infinite reflection effect.

Many Americans say they want to “make sure the shot is safe” before getting vaccinated. That data is already in, and it is overwhelming.

Looking for a Dental Hygienist for a growing practice in Birmingham metro area. Busy office, doctor does wide range of services. Currently availability of 2-3 days a week which can grow to 4 days a week based on need. Usually schedule 1 hour for recall visits, 1.5 hour for new patients/comp exams, flexible time as needed for perio (we give you enough time to do a thorough job). We have digital sensors/pan, intraoral cameras, and digital charting. Comfort using computers is important, as one is in every room. Must be willing to help out with duties outside of hygiene as needed, including but not limited to: assisting, turning over rooms, answering phones, and helping with other back office and front office duties. Experience with Dentrix and Dexis preferred. Must be willing to learn new things and not be "just a hygienist". You would be joining an experienced team and the doctor takes CE aggressively and is passionate about doing excellent work.

AdVance Dental is closed today, Tuesday February 16th due to the beautiful weather. Any patients of record with an emergency reach out to us through Messenger. We will be back in the office tomorrow to return phone calls, and resume patient care Thursday February 18th. Stay safe and warm!

Having a little fun with my obligatory COVID vaccine photo. So far I have only a sore arm and no other symptoms. So glad my staff and I were all fortunate enough to have access to the vaccine thanks to St. Vincent’s. In about a week 100% of AdVance Dental’s staff should be completely vaccinated!

My arm’s a little sore but otherwise so far so good after getting part one of the Moderna vaccine. I was asked to write why I got it on this paper, and I wrote too small. But I did it to try and protect my staff and my patients. Thanks to St. Vincent’s for providing me with the vaccine!
