It was quite rewarding to get this article published in It summarizes alot of the information from posts on this account in 2024 and 2025. And I think prevention is so important. I recently fixed my roof from squirrel damage. Then 2 months later the little squirrels came and nibbled the same hole back into my roof. I should have gotten rid of squirrels prior to wasting 1700 precious dollars on fixing my roof. It's analogy for caries. So the last post raised some concern about how a break in the seal of a rubber dam can affect humidity - and someone trying to hurt my feelings saying a hole in the rubber dam made it a "split dam". Probably more importantly it can also prevent the seal against saliva. I'd say one of my biggest problems with having a nice rubber dam when first learning to use them was something so simple - making sure the holes are the right distance apart. The picture shows what happens if they are too close or far apart. Next post will show a simple solution. Stay tuned to

Pink anodized abutments can help hide any gum show-through and gold anodization helps show-through of the abutment through the crown (more about that in next post). If you are anodizing titanium abutments, the voltage you use for your power supply will determine the color of the abutment. You can anodize yellow to match dentin or pink to match gums (or both). Heres a guide we made for the color we obtained with different voltages. Check out our previous post to see the equipment needed to do this. Probiotics for caries is not something that I had ever heard of until about 3 months ago after a covo with She had given some names of different brands and was one that responded when I messaged them on IG. They mailed me some trial bottles (and a free pair of socks). Also, they will mail you samples for your patients.

I looked up what research I could find and have attached it here.

There are some pretty good YouTube videos that explain how AI image analysis works. This was my attempt to apply that to dentistry. Probably the most relevant info from this post is that AI learns from seeing new images and the patterns within them. So that means it needs to be trained on good data. This is post 2 out of 5.
