Intermolar width can be helpful, but it is not the whole story. Molars can be tipped, rotated, baby teeth vs. adult teeth can change the measurement, and dental width does not always equal skeletal or nasal width.

In airway-focused orthodontics, I’m looking at the bigger picture: nasal volume, airway volume, palate shape, tongue space, breathing symptoms, sleep quality, and growth pattern.

Straight teeth are great. Healthy breathing is the goal.

Bonding an expander in the mouth is so simple!!! NO pinching, NO poking, NO shots!! We just have to keep the mouth open, the teeth dry, and then we glue the expander to the back teeth, all of which takes about 90 seconds! 👏🏻

Straight teeth don’t happen by magic—they happen by wearing your aligners consistently 💫 Clear aligners make it easy: they’re nearly invisible, removable for meals, and let you brush and floss like normal. But the freedmen only works if you stay consistent. Wear them as directed, take them out to enjoy your food/drink, and then pop them right back in!

✨ Ideally around age 5
✨ 7 at the latest (per AAO guidelines)
✨ Even earlier (3–4) if you notice airway, mouth breathing, or sleep concerns
