This beautiful patient wanted a picture perfect smile for her photos before her wedding.

Dr. Rifkin created only 4 and a minimally invasive no bleeding electro-surgical adjustment of her gingival scallop to achieve a very natural and beautiful smile.

Dr. Laurence Rifkin uses a dental operating microscope 🔬when preparing a patient’s teeth. This preserves preserves as much tooth structure as possible and to ensure the health of gum tissue with the most precision fit of the restorations.

Today and this weekend we celebrate Memorial Day 🇺🇸 which is giving respect and gratitude towards all those in our military that have given their lives to keep us safe here at home.

Let us also not forget the family members that share in their sacrifice as well. 🙏🏼

I am proud of those in my family that have served in the past and have given me the sense of responsibility and duty to give to others.

This weekend please pay our military the respect, honor and compassion that they deserve. They give up so much to protect us.

I have been personally honored with the opportunity to serve them through an organization like (Rebuilding America’s Warriors by reconstructing some of their battle injuries along with so many other Doctors.

Please make donations to the organizations that are there to help them. At the very least, when you see them in uniform take a moment to smile and just say thank you. It will go along way.

Can there be anything more important or more beautiful than our Mothers?
I was so fortunate to have the most amazing mother to love, support and take on both roles of parenting when I lost my father at an early age.
I think about her every day and continue to work hard and hope that I have made her proud.
Even though I have lost her I celebrate how lucky I was to have had her.
I’m sure many of you feel the same.
Those of you who still have your mothers embrace them, love ❤️ them and spend as much time as you can with them.
This is true for all of your other family members and friends and even people you have yet to meet.
Life is short.

The journey of your dental experience is equally as important as the destination!

Do you hate going to the dentist or your doctor’s office?

I’m a patient too, so I totally get it.

I’ve always believed that patient will take a better care of themselves when they enjoy going to the doctors for professional care.

Dentistry is exacting and sensitive and should be performed with the utmost of sensitivity, gentleness, and an empathetic and informative communication.

In my practice, we continually strive to create an environment of comfort, kindness, and professionalism.

The physical comforts are also important.

Beautiful architecture and decor is nice, but it will never substitute for how you are treated throughout the journey by the doctor and staff.

Don’t let your fear or anxiety of treatment keep you from taking care of yourself.

Options for treatment from surgery, restorative and injectables

This patient came to me, wanting a second opinion or an actuality, a third opinion.

One Previous dentist had wanted to perform upper and lower jaw surgery to reduce the gummy smile.

This is a complicated and significant surgery, which can affect facial aesthetics.

The second dentist recommended full mouth, gum, surgery shortening the teeth and putting crowns on all of the teeth.

It’s also was an extensive treatment when the patient had excellent health and function.

My solution always starts with proper diagnosis and options for treatment.

In her case temporary veneers that were overlayed on her teeth to reduce the gummy smile and to correct the less than attractive teeth, physicians and shapes.

Eventually performing without gum, surgery, porcelain veneers, and combination with a neuromodulator to drop down the upper lip and also fillers in the upper lip to balance the size between the upper and lower lip was the least invasive most satisfying solution for this patient avoid avoiding surgeries of any kind.

What is the method in the lesson. Get multiple opinions before deciding on doing any serious surgical interventions.
