Why I give women square teeth (on purpose). 🦷

Most people associate feminine smiles with soft, rounded teeth. But that’s not always what creates the most beautiful result.

In women with softer facial features, fuller lips, or rounder faces, I sometimes design teeth with stronger line angles and more squared shapes.

Why? Because contrast can create balance, definition, and a more striking smile.

My approach isn’t about following a formula. It’s about designing a smile that complements the individual.

Sometimes harmony comes from matching. Sometimes it comes from contrast.

This patient was understandably apprehensive about having treatment. She had seen several dentists, received different treatment recommendations, and spent a lot of time researching her options before ultimately deciding to trust me with her smile.

Her goal was to achieve a very natural result that would subtly enhance her face without looking like she had any dental work done.

When I design a smile, I look beyond the teeth. I consider facial proportions, contours, expression, and how different tooth shapes can influence the overall aesthetic.

A softer face doesn’t necessarily need rounded teeth. Sometimes, introducing stronger line angles and a more structured shape creates a beautiful contrast that brings balance and definition.
