Meet Dr. Nushin Shir, DDS, MPH 🦷

Thirty years. Six practices built across Los Angeles County. Countless smiles, including a long list of well-known faces you'd recognize.

September is National Gum Care Month, and gums are the part of your mouth almost nobody thinks about until something goes wrong. 🦷

Here's why they deserve the attention: gum disease is one of the most common conditions in adults, and in its early stages it's usually painless. No ache. No obvious warning. Just quiet damage to the foundation holding your teeth in place.

Watch for:
✔️ Bleeding when you brush or floss. This is never normal
✔️ Persistent bad breath
✔️ Red, puffy, or tender gums
✔️ Gums pulling back from the teeth, or teeth that look longer
✔️ Any looseness or shifting

Caught early, gingivitis is reversible. Left alone, it advances to periodontitis, which can mean bone loss and tooth loss, and it has been linked to heart disease and diabetes complications.
