MEET THE TEAM - Hi! I'm Dr. Margaret Mirabella - Dentist

My journey in dentistry began in 2019 after graduating from the College of the Holy Cross and joining Advanced Dental as a dental assistant. After 2.5 years, I took the next step in my career and had the incredible opportunity to attend the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. Go Huskies!

As a life-long seamstress, I've always loved working with my hands and creating things with precision and attention to detail - qualities that ultimately sparked my passion for dentistry.

Outside the office, I love staying active with hiking, strength training, CrossFit, pickleball, and biking. I have a goal of visiting every U.S. National Park, but my favorite place to be is on the water, especially on my Jet Ski! I'm also a huge animal lover and have two rescue dogs - one of whom weighs more than I do! 😀

Not All Worn Teeth Are Worn For The Same Reason...

If we see signs of tooth wear, the first thing we want to understand is what's actually causing it, because the solution to preventing worn teeth will be different depending on the cause.

If you have acid reflux, frequent vomiting, acidic drinks (think sodas, energy drinks, or citrus juices), your teeth may exhibit signs of acid erosion. After acid exposure, rinse your mouth with water to help neutralize it. Whatever you do, don't brush your teeth right away. Give your body and your saliva some time to counter the effects of the acid.

If you clench & grind your teeth, you will typically show signs of attrition. This is the constant wearing of your teeth over time due to the constant clenching & grinding. This can show up as worn down, shortened teeth, or even pits or potholes on the surfaces of your back teeth. For this type of situation, we may recommend a nighttime guard to protect your teeth, and, in extreme cases, rebuilding your teeth to proper size & shape.

Abrasion is usually caused by damage from a consistent movement over time with an abrasive substance. Most whitening toothpastes have abrasive in them to help remove stains from your teeth. If you brush too hard, or use a hard bristled toothbrush, you can be inadvertantly damaging your teeth and wearing away your enamel layer.

The Exchange is where Dentists and leading team members get together to share best practices, see the latest technologies and trends in dentistry, and improve their skills for the benefit of their patients.

Dr. Maroon hosted a dental laboratory panel at the event and was able to share his years of expertise with the attendees.

MEET THE TEAM - Hello, I'm Tracy, Lead Dental Assistant

Since 2004, I have had the privelege of working as a dental assistant, where I continue to grow and learn new procedures every day. My passion lies in cosmetic dentistry, especially in creating beautiful temporaries and helping patients feel confident in their smiles. I truly enjoy being part of a team that combines skill, artistry, and patient care to create positive experiences for every patient who walks through the door.

Outside the office, I am a busy mom of three children with my husband. Our family loves spending time together, especially at the hockey rink, cheering on the kids, camping outdoors, and relaxing at the beach whenever we can. Family time and making memories together are what I value most.
