TOOTH DECAY IN YOUNG CHILDREN - PARENTS DONβT BE CARELESS
β Many parents think that baby teeth are only temporary, so if they decay, they can just be extracted or left until permanent teeth come in. However, in reality, tooth decay in young children is an issue that needs much earlier attention than most people realize.
Tooth decay not only causes pain and discomfort but also affects chewing ability, pronunciation, and the development of permanent teeth later on. When baby teeth are severely decayed, bacteria can spread down to the underlying tooth buds, causing permanent teeth to erupt misaligned and weaker.
PARENTS SHOULD PREVENT TOOTH DECAY FOR CHILDREN BY:
- Guiding and assisting children to brush their teeth twice a day
- Limiting sweets and carbonated drinks
- Taking children for regular dental check-ups to detect early signs of abnormalities
π Caring for a childβs oral health from their very first teeth is the foundation for a healthy set of teeth in the future.
