Yesterday, I loved celebrating with a very good patient of mine that has trusted me with delivering several phases of care. After completing some basic dentistry, she wanted Invisalign treatment to help with a few alignment and cosmetic issues. When patients have advanced tooth wear and bite misalignment (especially females), headaches can be a common symptom. After resolving her headaches, it was time to consider adding some anatomy to her teeth before Invisalign treatment was started. I don’t always add tooth form before Invisalign treatment, but in this patients situation, it was necessary to help in the “architectural plan” of idealizing tooth position during her Invisalign treatment.
A mentor of mine recently stated “It’s amazing how the body responds when we just follow what biologically must be present and add it back when necessary”.
In one appointment, look how the eyes, lips, face, and posture has changed just by providing some anatomy back to the teeth. Now, we are ready to plan the ideal movement of the teeth with Invisalign. We are planning, teaching, and executing with a purpose and I am excited for the next phase of care.
