First: your questions are valid. Parents should absolutely feel empowered to ask their child's dentist about every product and treatment used in their child's care.

👉 Here's what Dr. Schmidt wants you to know: The fluoride used in a professional dental setting is applied directly to the tooth surface in concentrations specifically calibrated for children. It is not the same as the ongoing environmental exposure or water fluoridation debates you may be reading about online.

We know, we know... It says organic! It has apples on the front!

Here’s what Dr. Schmidt wants parents to know: the sugar in this pouch isn’t added; it comes from the juice concentrate itself. And that citric acid that gives it the tart taste softens enamel on contact.

None of that is a problem if your child has it occasionally with a meal and brushes after. The problem is the sippy cup that gets refilled with this all morning or the bottomless pouch. 👀

It’s not one pouch. It’s the repeated exposure throughout the day that turns a “healthy” drink into a cavity risk! Pro tip: water is always the best call between meals. Save the juice for mealtime and rinse after! 🦷
