Some patients just mean a little more. ❤️
Last week, we had the incredible honor of caring for two people who spent a combined 66 years caring for, teaching, encouraging, and shaping generations of students: David and Linda Scrivner.
Mrs. Scrivner began teaching in 1971, and Mr. Scrivner began in 1976. Between the two of them, they devoted decades of their lives to education, helping children learn not only math and academics, but confidence, perseverance, kindness, and the belief that they were capable of more.
Listening to them reflect on their years in the classroom was such a beautiful reminder of the impact a teacher can have. They talked about watching former students grow up to become doctors, lawyers, scientists, teachers, parents, and leaders in their own communities. That kind of legacy is impossible to measure.
And for Leigha and I personally, this visit was incredibly special. Mrs. Scrivner was our 2nd grade teacher, and Mr. Scrivner was Leigha, Mandi, and I’s junior high math teacher. To now be in a position where they trust us with their care is something we do not take lightly.
We are truly honored they have joined our dental family. There is something so meaningful about getting to care for the very people who once helped shape and guide you. It is one of those full-circle moments that reminds you just how connected our lives really are.
David and Linda, thank you for the years you gave to your students, the lives you influenced, and the difference you made in this community. It was such a privilege to have you in our office, and an even greater privilege to care for you now. ❤️
