While wisdom teeth are the most famous teeth to get stuck under the gums, canine teeth are actually the second most common. But unlike wisdom teeth, which are typically removed, your canines, or "eye teeth" are absolutely essential for a strong bite and an aligned smile.

When a canine tooth becomes impacted, we work hand-in-hand with their orthodontist to gently expose the hidden tooth and attach a small bracket.

This allows the tooth to be safely guided into its proper position over time. We believe in clear, compassionate communication so you and your family know exactly what to expect, removing the worry from your child’s care and building your confidence every step of the way.

If your family dentist has mentioned an impacted tooth, contact our team to discuss a clear path forward.

Did you know that Dr. Nathan Lenox is a Bend native?

After graduating from Bend Senior High, his medical and dental journey took him across the country to earn both his DMD and MD, alongside advanced fellowship training in complex surgery. But his goal was always to bring that elite level of expertise back home.

Dr. Lenox balances his highly specialized surgical skills with clear, compassionate communication.

He understands that oral surgery can feel overwhelming, so he prioritizes answering every question to build absolute patient confidence before treatment even begins.

When a tooth gets "stuck."

An impacted tooth simply means it hasn't broken through the gum line into its correct position.

Whether it’s blocked by another tooth or just lacks the space to grow, an "impacted" tooth can lead to hidden decay, crowding, or painful infections.

At Ridgeline, we use 3D imaging to see exactly what’s happening beneath the surface.

We replace the "medical maze" with a clear plan to protect your smile’s alignment and health.

How long do implants actually last?

It’s a great question. While nothing in healthcare is "forever," dental implants are designed to be a multi-decade solution.

With proper care and consistent hygiene, your implants can last 20 to 25 years, and often longer. Unlike other options, they integrate with your bone to provide a permanent foundation for your smile.

At Ridgeline, we focus on Clear Care, giving you the honest facts you need to make a confident decision for your future.

Expert care, built to last.

What exactly is a dental implant?

Think of it as a permanent "reset" for a missing tooth. By using a small titanium post as a new root, we create a foundation that looks, feels, and functions just like the real thing.

Unlike temporary options, implants stabilize your jawbone and let you eat, speak, and smile with total confidence.

At Ridgeline, we focus on Clear Care, explaining the process simply so you can make the best decision for your health. Expert care, without the fight.

At Ridgeline, we use 3D Cone Beam imaging to remove the uncertainty from your care.

Unlike standard X-rays, this technology gives us a complete, 360-degree view of your anatomy.

Why does this matter for you? It means higher precision, shorter procedure times, and, most importantly, the ability for us to show you exactly what’s happening before we begin.

When you can see the plan clearly, you can move forward with confidence.
Expert care, without the fight.

Experience the difference that clarity makes. Call our Bend or Redmond offices to schedule your consultation.

Why is wisdom tooth removal necessary?

It’s the #1 question we hear from parents: “If it doesn’t hurt, why remove them?”

At Ridgeline, we believe in Clear Care over clinical mystery.

Here are four reasons why being proactive matters:
1️⃣ Prevent Crowding: Stops a "slow-motion collision" that shifts healthy teeth.
2️⃣ Avoid Hidden Decay: Eliminates hard-to-reach traps for bacteria.
3️⃣ Reduce Infection: Prevents painful cysts from damaging your jawbone.
4️⃣ Faster Recovery: Younger patients heal significantly quicker.

Our goal is to remove the "fight" from the process, giving you a simple, stress-free plan for your teen.

Ready for a clear look? Call our Bend or Redmond offices to schedule an evaluation.
