April is Oral Cancer awareness month. We do oral cancer screenings at every recall visit. If your dentist is not doing them, please ask them to check. These cancers are not easy to treat and sometimes start with something as innocent as a small sore in the mouth that just doesn't heal. Your routine visits are never just about your teeth and gums.

Risk factors that can increase chances of getting oral cancer include smoking, alcohol use, use of smokeless to***co products (like dip, pouches, va**ng, etc), but even patients at low risk can get cancer.

Come in, get checked. It could save your life.
