A Healthy Diet for a Great-Looking Smile ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŽ

If we start our day off with a donut, breakfast sandwich, and a peppermint latte, we ingest a lot of sugar and carbs that will remain stuck to our teeth throughout the day. Plaque, a sticky biofilm that grows in the mouth, uses the sugars we consume to produce harmful substances that slowly erode away at our tooth enamel. The longer we allow sugars to remain in the mouth, and the more sugars we eat throughout the day, the more fuel we provide plaque to damage our oral health.

So, what should you eat for breakfast and every other meal throughout the rest of the day? What dietary choices make the most sense for helping to protect your teeth and gums? Do you need to give up on sugar and carbs entirely to enjoy quality oral health? Letโ€™s take a look:

Our Aloha family dentist helps patients understand the best types of diets for improving their oral and thier overall health.

Hello friends, we hope this post finds you in good health.

In response to the recent public health emergency involving COVID-19 (coronavirus), the Oregon Dental Association has recommended that all dental offices suspend non urgent dental care for the next 14 days. At Bronitsky Family Dentistry the health of our patients and our staff come first and we do not want to put anyone at undue risk. Therefore, we will be rescheduling all appointments starting Tuesday, March 17th and reopening Monday, March 30th. (Barring any further developments.)

Although we do not want to disrupt your scheduled appointments, we feel it is the prudent and socially responsible thing to do. We feel it is important to follow health guidelines and participate in social distancing at this time.

We have always had infection control and patient health safety as a staple of our office and we continue to do so during these times. (From monthly infection control training to advance purchasing of protective equipment so we have no shortage during challenging times, we are prepared to take the best possible care of our patients.)

That being said, we are always on call for any dental emergencies. Please do not hesitate to call to ask questions, to call if you need treatment or even if you are unsure if you have a dental emergency or not. We will be available to answer your phone calls, emails and texts.

Thank you for your understanding. Again, please donโ€™t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. Take care of yourselves, be good to your neighbors, and we will see you again shortly.

All the Best,

Dr. Erica, Micah, Gerriann, Susan and Kindel

Whether you are an adult who loves to play pickup games at the park or a teen who participates in youth sports, athletes of every age need to wear a mouthguard to protect their long-term oral health. Dental trauma suffered during a sporting event can seriously impact the long-term health of a smile if a tooth becomes cracked, broken, chipped, or knocked out. .

Studies have also found that athletes who wear a mouthguard can help to reduce the force that occurs to the neck and head during contact, thereby lowering the risk of concussion. Why risk the health of your smile and the chance of suffering a concussion? Contact our office to get fitted for your own custom-made mouthguard today!

Are Dental Implants Right for Me?

If you're missing one or more teeth, then dental implants could be the answer you're looking for to restore your smile back to health. Single tooth dental implants are some of the most common types Dr. Bronitsky places, and they make a great choice for patients who:

*Dislike the appearance of their smile due to a missing tooth
*Have trouble chewing due to a missing molar or incisor
*Have had the way they speak change due to missing a tooth
*Want to protect the long-term health of their teeth
