We’d like to take a moment to make an announcement to our patient family. Our long-time beloved hygienist, Mimi, will be making an exciting career change to teach full-time at Kellogg Community College for their Dental Hygiene Program. Although we’re heartbroken to lose her at our office, providing excellent care to our patients, we’re also happy for her to be chasing her dreams and doing something she loves and is so passionate about!
Mimi is a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Dental Hygiene in 2004. She started practicing dental hygiene in Ann Arbor following graduation and then moved back home to Battle Creek in 2013 to work for her parents – Drs. Dan and Diana Bonfiglio. They were the owners of this dental practice before Dr. Amanda purchased the practice in 2017.
After Dr. Amanda took ownership in 2017, Mimi has continued to practice clinical hygiene here and care for her patients, all while teaching part-time at KCC as dental hygiene faculty and raising 3 beautiful daughters. Mimi has many long-time patients she has been seeing for years who will miss her very much! She first started teaching at KCC part-time in 2015. After years of teaching part-time, she was offered a temporary full-time position in the Fall of 2025. She took a leave of absence from Miller Family Dental to try out full-time teaching at KCC in January 2026-May 2026. She returned to the practice at the end of the semester to treat patients once again, but has now been offered a full-time position starting in Fall 2026.
Mimi is a wonderful example of what all dental hygienists should strive to be – she is kind, caring, meticulous in her work, dedicated to helping her patients achieve their health goals & wonderful at educating them about their own health – so they can make the best decisions for themselves. Through the years practicing alongside Mimi, we have all learned from her and grown together as a team. Her students are so lucky to have her as their professor & we know she will make a big impact on their lives, just as she has made on the lives of our staff members and the patients she has cared for.
For those of you who are Mimi’s long-time patients – there may be times that she is available to come back to the office to help us out with patient care. We hope this happens as we will miss her so much. So it’s not goodbye, it’s just see you later! We wish her all the best in this new journey in her professional life – we love you, Mimi!
