A dental crown is a cap placed over a tooth to protect and strengthen it when it’s too damaged for a regular filling.

We usually recommend one when:
→ The cavity is too large for a filling to hold
→ The tooth has already had a root canal (pulpotomy) and needs extra protection
→ The tooth is fractured or chipped from a fall or accident
→ Your child grinds their teeth and a filling likely won't survive
→ Enamel is weak or underdeveloped, making the tooth cavity-prone
→ There’s a risk of the tooth breaking down further over time

Crowns help kids chew properly, keep their bite aligned, and avoid painful infections down the road.
