Parents! Lots of kids walking around with grade 3 and 4 Tonsils! Does your child snore, gag easily, have a speech issue or grind their teeth? Please take a flashlight and look at their TONSILS! Majority of the issue is enlarged tonsils causing airway obstruction which then leads to narrow arches and malaligned jaws(underbite or open bite). Your DOCTOR WON’T refer your child to the ENT unless they have had lots of throat infections. They are missing a bigger problem! Your DENTIST refers you because they see an issue that starts at an early age and will cause problems as your child ages. In some cases, the ENT finds your child has severe sleep apnea that has to be addressed prior to removal. It’s scary to find out that your child’s sleeping habits could cause a true medical emergency. Bringing your child to the dentist is not just to check their teeth. It’s an overall check of the surrounding tissues and lymph nodes.
We recommend everyone in the family come to get a cleaning and checkup every 6 months.
