First Exam should be at Age 7… It does not necessarily mean that they will need treatment, but it helps the orthodontist see whether there will be enough space for incoming adult teeth and start preparing to gain space if needed. This is important bc it prevents the removal of adult teeth in the future. If you think the orthodontist’s fees are expensive over 18 months to 2 years of treatment and time spent, wait till you see the oral surgeon’s bill for adult tooth extractions and jaw surgeries. Yikes!!! Also, (1) it is far healthier to gain your children’s teeth space through palatial expansion or bc it saves keeps the foundation of your teeth by saving the tendon network which keep your teeth in your mouth in place; (2) when starting young, the doctor can also correct the overbites and underbites better and avoid costly and 9 week recoveries from jaw surgery…
