First up: When should my child first see an orthodontist?

Probably earlier than you think.

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends an initial orthodontic check-up around age 7. That doesn’t mean braces at 7. It simply gives us a chance to see how everything is developing and catch potential issues early.

Sometimes the answer is, “Everything looks great. See you in a few years.”

And that’s a pretty great answer.
