☕🍂 Fall Drinks & Healthy Smiles! 🦷🤎

Pumpkin spice, caramel lattes, and all your favorite fall coffee drinks are back! 🎃🍁 But did you know your favorite seasonal sip can contribute to both tooth staining and cavities?

Here are a few tips to enjoy your coffee while protecting your smile:

☕ Go easy on the sugar! Ask for fewer pumps of flavored syrup, skip the extra drizzle, or choose an unsweetened option. Less added sugar means less fuel for cavity-causing bacteria!

💧 Sip some water! Drinking water alongside your coffee can help rinse away some lingering pigments and residue.

🦷 Watch the stains! Coffee contains pigments that can discolor your teeth over time. Rinsing with water after your coffee may help, and keeping up with regular dental cleanings helps remove surface stains.

🪥 Don't brush immediately after acidic drinks! Wait about 30 minutes before brushing to give your enamel time to recover.

🍂 Our fall favorite tip: Enjoy your seasonal coffee, just be mindful of how much sugar you add and how often you sip throughout the day!

That’s why regular dental exams are so important! Some cavities can be hiding between teeth or in areas that are difficult to see at home. By the time a tooth starts hurting, the cavity may already be more advanced.

As we celebrate National Dental Hygiene Month, we also want to highlight an important part of your dental visit that you may not always think about—dental X-rays!

Even when your teeth look and feel great, there can be things happening beneath the surface that we can’t see during a regular exam. X-rays can help your dental team identify:

🦷 Problems around the roots of teeth
🦷 Infections or abscesses
