Comprehensive Orthodontic Transformation ✨

This case presented with significant crowding, dentoalveolar protrusion, and open gingival embrasures—or “black triangles”—partly caused by the shape and proportions of the teeth.

Treatment included the extraction of four premolars to create space, properly align the teeth, and reduce protrusion. We also performed careful tooth reshaping and interproximal contouring to improve tooth proportions, contact points, and eliminate the black triangles.

The result: improved alignment, balanced proportions, reduced protrusion, and a more harmonious, natural-looking smile. 🦷✨

😳 THESE TWO TEETH SWITCHED PLACES!

This may look like a normal orthodontic case… but it was actually a dental transposition — a situation where two teeth develop and erupt in the wrong positions.

In this case, the upper left canine and lateral incisor had switched places. 🦷

So how do you fix something like this?

Very carefully. 👀

First, I moved the lateral incisor toward the inside of the mouth, toward the palate.
At the same time, I moved the canine backward, creating enough room to guide it into its proper position.

Once the canine was where it belonged, I carefully moved the lateral incisor back toward the outside of the mouth, toward the cheek, and into its final position.

Sounds simple… right? 😅

It’s actually one of the more challenging movements in orthodontics because the teeth—and especially their roots—have to be guided around each other without causing damage to the surrounding bone or roots.

🧩 Think of it as solving a 3D puzzle… inside the mouth!

The goal isn’t just to make the teeth look straight. It’s to carefully place each tooth in its correct position while maintaining a healthy and functional smile.
