If you’ve recently had a tooth removed—whether it was damaged, infected, or just couldn’t be saved—it can be tempting to leave the space alone. But that empty spot can cause more problems than most people realize, and replacing it with a dental implant is often the healthiest long-term choice.

Here’s why:

1. It protects your jawbone.
Once a tooth is gone, the bone in that area starts to shrink. An implant acts like a real tooth root and helps keep the bone strong.

2. It keeps your smile aligned.
Teeth naturally drift into open spaces. Over time, that shifting can affect your bite and make everyday things—like chewing—feel different.

3. It feels and functions like a natural tooth.
Implants are stable, comfortable, and let you eat and speak without worrying about movement.

4. It’s a long-term fix.
With good care, implants can last for many years, often decades, making them a smart investment in your oral health.

5. It helps maintain your facial shape.
Because implants support the jawbone, they help prevent that “sunken” look that can happen when teeth and bone are lost.

Is Mouthwash Really Necessary?

Many people think mouthwash can replace brushing or flossing – but that’s a myth!

Mouthwash is a great addition to your routine – not a substitute to brushing.
It helps with

🔹 Kill leftover bacteria

🔹 Freshen breath

🔹 Reduce plaque & gingivitis (with the right ingredients)

Helpful Tip: Use an alcohol-free mouthwash if you have sensitive gums or dry mouth. The best time to use it? After brushing and flossing — not before!

Smile tip of the day 😁

Brushing harder doesn’t mean brushing better.
In fact, too much pressure can wear down enamel and irritate your gums (recession). Use a soft-bristled toothbrush and let technique do the work — not force!

🪥 2 minutes, twice a day
🧵 Small circular motions
💧 Gentle pressure is key

Your smile deserves the best care — and we’re here to help you every step of the way! Have a beautiful weekend!

Thinking of pulling a tooth? Here’s why you might want to save it instead.

When a tooth is causing pain or has an infection, it’s tempting to just have it pulled and be done with it. But in most cases, saving the tooth — whether with a root canal or another treatment — is actually the better move. Here’s why:

1. Your natural tooth is best. Nothing feels or functions quite like your own tooth. Keeping it helps you chew, smile, and speak more naturally.

2. It keeps your bite in line. When a tooth is pulled, the surrounding teeth can shift and throw off your bite, leading to more problems (and costs) later on.

3. It can save money long-term. Sure, pulling a tooth might be cheaper upfront but replacing it with an implant, bridge, or denture adds up fast.

4. Modern dentistry makes it easier than you think. Root canals have come a long way. Today, they’re usually quick, comfortable, and super effective at relieving pain. Before you decide to pull, let’s talk to Dr.LaBombard and go from there.

Here are some interesting Dental Facts You Probably Didn’t Know!

1.Your toothbrush has an expiration date
Swap it out every 3 months — worn bristles don’t clean well and can hold bacteria.

2.Sugar isn’t the only culprit.
Starches like chips and bread turn into sugars in your mouth and feed cavity-causing bacteria too!

3.Tooth enamel = body’s strongest substance.Yep, even stronger than bone. But it’s not invincible, so always brush gently!

4.Most people don’t brush long enough.
45 seconds won’t cut it — aim for 2 full minutes.

5.Your mouth reveals more than you think.
Oral health can show early signs of diabetes, heart disease, and more. Your mouth is a health mirror
