We're reminding you that kids need to visit their dentist twice a year for hygiene checkups. Because they are growing so fast, a lot can change in a year. If your child hasn't had a cleaning in the last six months (that would have been last August), it's time to schedule!

This month, we wanted to show some LOVE to our amazing patients who have helped us grow so much as a dental practice.

For the month of February, anyone who refers a friend or family member to our office will be entered into the giveaway to win a movie night.

How to enter? Just refer Super Kids Austin to a new patient and ask them to mention your name when they call to schedule an appointment. You'll automatically be entered.

Dr. Loar and Dr. Patel both attended the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry meeting in Orlando last weekend. It was a great chance to learn more about the latest research being conducted in U.S. and international universities.

There is a strong connection between dental health and overall health. Many health conditions, such as diabetes and some cancers, might first become apparent in the mouth. So it's vital that dentists are aware of the progress being made in early detection.

Our dentists are also interested in learning about the newest techniques in pediatric dentistry so that they can give their patients the best care possible.

Happy Dental Assistant Appreciation Week, Julie! 🎉

Julie's primary role is in scheduling and insurance. She helps families work out any issues they might have in getting dental healthcare for the children.

She greets patients and helps them to feel comfortable. Additionally, Julie does community outreach and generally just keeps our office running smoothly.

She's also a new mom to an adorable baby boy!

Dr. Patel loves working with kids, which is why she chose open a practice dedicated exclusively to children! As a mom herself, Dr. Patel remembers how much there was to worry about when everything was new. She's dedicated to helping caregivers feel confident and never judged.

Known for her gentle and patient demeanor, Dr. Patel is well-loved by all her super kid patients.

🎉 It's National Dentist Day! We are proud to recognize Dr. Loar who has been making us smile at Super Kids Austin for two years.

Dr. Loar is President of the Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He does advocacy work at the state and national level for children's oral health.

Traveling for international dental volunteer projects is another one of Dr. Loar's interests. He donates his time to projects that bring healthcare access to children in developing countries.

He is also the author of a children's book called Sugar Bugs (read more about it on our blog!)
