Recently, Dr. Cami and Ashleigh attended a CranioSacral Therapy (CST) course with the Upledger Institute International.

What exactly is CST? It’s a very gentle, hands-on approach focused on the tissues and structures surrounding the brain and spinal cord.

Why does this matter in a dental office?
Because the jaw doesn’t function in isolation. The jaw, skull, neck, airway and surrounding tissues all interact. This training gives our team another perspective when looking at things like jaw and head tension, TMJ concerns, airway function and overall comfort during care.

Ashleigh is a Registered Dental Hygienist with 18 years of experience and a Certified Biological Dental Hygienist through IABDM. She pays attention to airway, inflammation, oral bacteria, breathing habits, and the mouth-body connection.

Today is National Fresh Breath Day, a good reminder that fresh breath often goes hand in hand with a good overall health.

Yes, a mild morning breath can be normal if it improves after brushing, flossing, cleaning your tongue, and drinking water.

What should not be ignored? Bad breath that lasts all day, returns quickly, or comes with bleeding gums, pain, dry mouth, or a bad taste.

A mint may cover the odor for a little while, but finding and treating the cause makes a real difference.
