I wish I had a dollar for every time someone pointed to gnarly root tips—and NO tooth structure but the sad little roots—-
And said “I think I have a cavity”

We don’t know what we don’t know

My role as a dentist is to educate with kindness knowing that the owner of the “cavity” maybe avoided care for reasons that are unknown to me. ❤️🧡❤️

Who makes your healthcare choices now? Here’s why I advocate for small private owned offices.

Dentists in corporate offices are written up for “not diagnosing enough treatment”.

Corporate offices publish lists of the dollar amount produced by their dentists. Those in the bottom of the list are at risk of losing their jobs. (This fact is widely shared amongst the dental community)

There is a dentist that sold their practice to a corporate group (aka a DSO—dental service organization) who was written up and repeatedly disciplined for not diagnosing enough treatment.

They found the practice robust enough to buy then punished the dentist for continuing to practice the same way.

This is why I provide free second opinions 😎

Tina came to my office in Dec 2019 to "shadow". She’s a Cedar Park HS and UT Austin Alumnus (Biochemistry degree!!!)
