Many thanks to Lynn Beggs for painting "Ida - Angel of the Moon" for the . This painting is a personal experience in Austin for Lynn.
Lynn has advanced Parkinson's and was in a nursing home for 3 years. She disliked the treatment she was receiving there and finally decided to leave despite her medical condition. After spending some time in a medical sanctuary, she moved to a neighborhood in North Austin. Lynn loved her neighborhood with its multicultural community, beautiful oak tree, Roger the loud rooster, Bombi the deer, and snails that left behind their shimmering shells in her yard. Finally the angel statue symbolizes purity, beauty, wisdom of the heart, and the power of feminine energy. She has fond memories of her old neighborhood, all represented in her painting. While she is still getting treatment for her Parkinson's, her passion for her art that keep her alive and close to God.
Lynn has lived in Austin for 35 years and was an artist in residence at the before she became ill. Her art is inspired by the beauty of the world around her and wants to paint everything - trees, flowers, people, landscapes, everything. She is inspired by great painters of the Renaissance as well as turn of the century Modernists. She currently has a few commissions lined up.
