Let’s clear something up about dental X-rays during pregnancy.

I know radiation and pregnancy can sound scary, but dental X-rays are considered very safe when they are needed. The exposure is extremely low, focused on the mouth, and we use protective covering to help keep the rest of the body protected.

What can be more concerning is leaving an infection untreated.

I always want my patients to know that dental care can still be an important part of a healthy pregnancy, and the right time and type of treatment can be tailored to you with care.

For many, the second trimester is a great time to come in, check in on your oral health, and make sure everything feels supported moving forward.
