Brushing too hard can do more harm than good. Scrubbing aggressively doesn’t mean cleaner teeth. It can actually wear down enamel and irritate your gums. The trick is to use a soft-bristle toothbrush in gentle circular motions and brush for a full 2 minutes. Think of brushing like massaging rather than scrubbing. If your toothbrush bristles fray quickly or your gums bleed often, it might be time to rethink your technique.

Did you know some foods can naturally support dental health? Crunchy fruits and veggies like apples, carrots, and celery help remove plaque and stimulate saliva to neutralize acids. Cheese also strengthens enamel by balancing pH and providing calcium.

Although these foods can give your smile a boost, remember that brushing twice a day and flossing daily are essential! Have questions? Call us at (303) 368-0555.

Nuts, such as almonds, cashews, and Brazil nuts, are packed with essential minerals that help keep your teeth strong and gums healthy. Almonds, in particular, are low in sugar, high in calcium, and help stimulate saliva production, keeping bacteria away. Nuts are also a tooth-friendly swap for chips or crackers, which often leave behind starchy residue. More dental health tips? Contact us at (303) 368-0555.
