Previous case BTS: Digital dentistry is becoming more and more popular, but I much prefer analog. I find it much easier to visualize proportions and make refinements when I have something tangible. There is a reason why car manufacturers still use clay models when designing new vehicles. Digital dentistry is nice but not enough.

What a before and after. One of the toughest cases we've worked on. High smile line, maxillary excess/excessive VDO, and failing maxillary dentition made this case technically challenging. We planned for multiple rounds of surgery, strategic extractions, implant placement and months of tissue molding with provisional restorations to achieve an aesthetic result. did a fantastic job with the final restoration.

Rehabilitation of worn dentition. Our orthodontic colleague setup this case beautifully. Post Ortho this case was waxed up, mocked up and crown lengthening completed to improve retention and awsthetics. Case completed with monolithic zirconia crowns, Emax crowns and PFZ implant crown.

An interesting and challenging case. A special needs patient was looking to improve her smile. Our orthodontic colleague did an incredible job of setting up her spacing. To replace the patient's missing laterals, her canines were substituted in their place. Her 1st premolars were turned into canines as well. A diagnostic wax up ensures her teeth are proportional. Because of her under sized teeth, we kept this case as close to prep less as possible, preparing areas only to create draw. Not only was this conservative, we were able achieve close to 100% enamel bonding.

After 10 years at our Southlands location, we are finally ready to make our move. But don't worry, we are dedicated to our patients in the south east Denver metro area and are not going far! (Less than 3 minutes away)

Our office will be closed from March 11 through the 16th for the move and will re-open at our new location on March 17th, 2025.

At first glance I thought this patient's teeth were "nice." They were white and they were straight. But after a lengthy conversation I realized this wasn't what she wanted. The teeth were too white, too big, too straight with no character. She felt like she's got a mouthful of teeth. Our patient wanted something more natural. We dialed down the brightness, softened the teeth, opened up the embrasures and the buccal corridor.

I rarely post dentures, but this one I thought is worth sharing. Patient had every possible problem with her denture imaginable. They were ill fitting, teeth did not match up, she couldn't close her mouth, she couldn't speak... We were able to address all of her issues and give her the result she wanted.

A different kendo of dental meet up: last weekend Dr. Chen from Uptown Prosthodontics teamed up with Hiossen Dental Implants and Quest Dental to compete in the Rensei Taikai hosted by SWKIF in Tulsa, OK. Overall it was a great experience and a nice change in setting to discuss dentistry and swordsmanship.
