One of my favorite design details in our office? These beams. 🤍
We loved the look of a historic, reclaimed wood beam, but the real thing comes with a real price tag. So we got creative. We took four pieces of wood, joined two together, then boxed them in on two sides to build the shape ourselves. A little paint and the right finish later, and you would never know they weren’t original to the building.
Sometimes the best design decisions are the ones nobody can tell you made. 😊

Eighteen months. Same patient, same camera, one very different smile. 🦷

When he started, his uppers were crowded, the laterals were tucked in behind, and the lowers were turning over each other. Full braces, a year and a half of steady work, and a check-in every few weeks — that’s the whole secret. No shortcuts, just a plan and a patient who showed up🙌
This is what “handmade smiles” means to us: every wire bent and every bracket placed for the person in the chair, not for a template because no smile is the same☺️💙

Arch expansion is one of the most talked about topics in orthodontics, and there is more than one way to do it. 😊
A narrow upper arch can contribute to crowded teeth, a smaller smile, and even airway or breathing issues, since the roof of the mouth also forms the floor of the nasal cavity. That is why so many orthodontic treatment plans start with a conversation about arch width, not just tooth alignment.
This is a case that was treated with Invisalign first, expanding the arches as part of the same continuous treatment. Look closely at the transverse width, the left to right measurement of the arches, before and after. The difference speaks for itself. 🙏

That air puff hits different every time. 😭💨

Fun fact: that little tool is used to dry and isolate your teeth during bonding, it’s a normal part of getting braces or attachments on! Doesn’t make it any less dramatic though. 😂
