Five years and counting!

We’re excited to sponsor Ashford Park Elementary for the fifth year in a row! Ashford Park Elementary School is a big part of our Brookhaven neighborhood, and a lot of the families there are our patients and neighbors too.

The teachers, staff and parent volunteers at Ashford Park put so much into those kids every single day. Being able to support that, even in a small way, is one of our favorite parts of the year.

This is all part of our Brighten Your Smile, Better the World campaign, where we give back to the schools and causes in our own backyard.

At a lot of dental offices, cleanings get squeezed into a short time slot. In and out.
We block off a full hour for every adult cleaning.

Why? Because a rushed cleaning usually isn’t a thorough one. And because our hygienists actually want to talk with you. Ask how the kids are doing. Hear about the new job. Notice the little things that change from one visit to the next.

Some of our hygienists have been with us for more than 10 years, and the opportunity to get to know their patients is one of their favorite part of working here. They’ve watched patients go through all kinds of life changes.

The other part? Nobody on our team is told to sell you anything. Our hygienists’ job is to take good care of you. That’s it.

We’ve been the neighborhood dentist here since 1969, and we plan to keep doing things this way. If you want a dentist who’ll slow down and get to know you, we’d love to meet you.

Brookhaven Family Dentistry was proud to sponsor the Assistance League of Atlanta golf tournament on October 5th. Thank you to everyone who came out to play and support it. And a huge thanks to the volunteers who pulled the whole day together.

If you’re not familiar with them, Assistance League of Atlanta is run entirely by volunteers. There’s no paid staff at all. They help kids and adults right here in our community who are dealing with poverty, homelessness, or crisis get back on their feet. That help looks like weekend food bags for students, supplies for new moms and their babies, or hygiene kits and household basics for families starting over.

Last year they helped around 58,000 people. A big chunk of that is funded by their Attic Treasures thrift shop, which is right here in Chamblee, just down the road from us. We’re lucky to have neighbors like this, and we are glad we got to play a small part.

A special thank you to Colleen Kelly Sugar for making this partnership happen. We’re so grateful you brought us to this opportunity.

We had the honor of bringing lunch to the team at Northside Atlanta Hospital, Meridian Mark Outpatient Surgery Center! Northside Hospital

This was part of Fuel the Frontline, our monthly program where we provide a free lunch or dinner to a hospital shift or care team nominated by one of our patients. The people who take care of us all day deserve to be taken care of too. Thank you to every nurse, tech, and team member there for everything you do for our community. Happy World Teachers' Day.

Teaching runs in our family. Dr. Kokabi's mother taught high school overseas, then taught preschool in Tucker after moving to the U.S. His mother-in-law spent more than 20 years teaching at Grayson Elementary. We've seen the early mornings, the late-night grading and the classroom supplies bought with their own money.

So to every teacher: thank you for all the teaching and caring that you do.
It's why we're proud to be known as Atlanta's premier dentist for teachers.

Happy 6th work anniversary to Lindsey, one of the heart and soul team members here at Brookhaven Family Dentistry. Lindsey started with us as a dental assistant, then took the leap to go back to school for hygiene, and today she's one of our incredible hygienists taking care of patients every day. Watching someone grow like that, right here in our own office, is one of the best parts of running this practice. Thank you for six years of hard work, dedication, and genuinely caring for every person who sits in your chair, Lindsey. Here's to many more.
