Did you know that cavities in dog teeth are very rare?
Cavities are caused by specific bacteria that live on flat surfaces of teeth and metabolize sugars into acid. Dogs don't usually consume as much sugar as humans do, and the species of bacteria that causes cavities are very rare in dogs' mouths. While we can’t change the type of bacteria in our mouths, maybe we could take note and eat less sugar.
