🔬 Case Overview: Tooth #10 With a very large Periapical infection that has eroded through the buccal and palatal cortical bone with bear sinus exposure. Procedure: RCT + Apicoectomy
📖 Story: Exactly one year ago, Our patient walked into our dental clinic with a complicated large draining sinus tract near the apex of the tooth. CBCT scan showed substantial bone loss around apex of #10 and a thru and thru lesion. After careful evaluation and discussions, we decided Root canal treatment with an apicoectomy, a surgical procedure targeting the root tip, was the best solution to save the tooth and restore oral health.
🔍 Surgical Procedure: Under the skilled hands of our experienced dental team, we performed a meticulous apicoectomy, removing the infected tissue, cleaning the area, biopsy the site and sealing the root tip to prevent further infection. A bone graft was also placed to induce osseous healing. The procedure required precision and attention to detail, considering the size of the infection
