Tonsil removal isn't always the first answer, but having the full picture always helps families move forward with confidence.

This young patient came to us struggling with breathing. Imaging showed enlarged tonsils that were significantly blocking the airway. The family wanted to understand all their options before making any decisions, and we were so glad they did.

Together, we reviewed what the imaging showed, talked through what sequencing care could look like, and helped them feel equipped to move forward with their ENT. The next step: once the tonsils are addressed, we'll be able to focus on jaw development to support long-term breathing and health.

This is what collaborative, informed care looks like. No rushing. No pressure. Just the right information at the right time, so families can make the best choice for their child. 🌱

A recent study showed that children with sleep-disordered breathing slept longer, snored less, and woke up less often following dental expansion treatment.

We find this genuinely exciting because it's exactly what families tell us they experience.

Some appointments stay with you.

We recently had the privilege of welcoming a patient who has just completed the most extraordinary journey, beating stage 4 cancer. She came in focused, intentional, and full of forward momentum. Now she's committed to protecting her long-term health and reducing inflammation wherever she can.

After salivary testing, elevated red complex bacteria were identified in her oral microbiome. She already understood the connection between oral bacteria and systemic inflammation, and she was ready to address it proactively in partnership with both our team and her functional medicine providers.

For patients managing autoimmune conditions like Hashimoto's, reducing inflammation wherever possible isn't just a preference, it's a priority.

What a lot of people don't realize is that certain oral bacteria, especially what's called red complex bacteria, have the ability to enter the bloodstream and trigger inflammatory responses throughout the body. That makes oral health a genuinely important piece of the systemic picture.

We were so encouraged when this patient's follow-up saliva test showed her red complex bacteria had been fully cleared. 🙌

Before treatment, this patient's parent came to us with a list of concerns: occasional snoring, frequent congestion, dental crowding, and a little one whose teachers were noticing trouble focusing at school.

After palatal expansion, which created space for incoming permanent teeth and supported the airway, the changes were meaningful. Mom reported less hyperactivity, more restful sleep, and a significant reduction in sleepwalking episodes that had been happening regularly.

We want to be clear: expansion isn't a magic fix for everything. But when a narrow jaw is contributing to breathing and sleep challenges, creating more space can support the body in doing what it was designed to do. 🌱

Watching a child thrive, sleep better, focus more, and breathe more easily, is one of the best parts of this work.

We hear a lot of beautiful things in this office. This one made the whole team smile for days. 🥹

This sweet girl came to us with concerns about mouth breathing, snoring, and restless sleep. After palatal expansion to address her narrow jaw, Mom noticed something unexpected: her daughter seemed to get sick far less often once she started breathing through her nose consistently.

It makes so much sense when you think about it. Nasal breathing is one of the body's first lines of defense. It filters, humidifies, and warms the air before it reaches the lungs. When we breathe through our mouths instead, we miss out on those benefits.

Every situation is unique, but we love that this family experienced something meaningful, and we're so grateful to have been part of their journey. 💛
