To be clear... you DO need to watch this video.

Also to be clear... you do NOT need this much toothpaste.

Aaaand to be clear again... this is not real toothpaste. Just buy some from the store.

Devil’s toothpaste? 🤔 probably not even fluoridated.

To All Our Amazing Patients:

Welcome back! Just like you, I’m happy to get back to work now that the executive order that restricted non-emergency care has been lifted, and we have secured all the equipment necessary to start treatments again.

We will be back in the office full time starting Monday, May 18th. We will temporarily have a reduced schedule to allow time for the additional measures that we are taking to ensure everyone’s safety.

I’ve been closely following recommendations and guidelines from the CDC, ADA, Oregon Health Authority, OSHA, and our Oregon leadership regarding the spread of Novel Coronavirus. I want to thank all of you for doing your part to help keep our community safe.

What’s New

Our practice is adapting and evolving! During our time closed, we took the opportunity to gather supplies and implement procedures to stop the possible spread of the virus.

We are committed to the health and well being of our patients and community. I feel it’s important that we continue to uphold our responsibility to continue to “avoid the spread” which means your next appointment in the office may look different than before. Here’s what you can expect:

* All staff and patients will be screened each day for signs and symptoms of the Covid-19 infection.

* Social distancing will be maintained, which includes limiting the number of patients in the office at a time.

* Our office has been thoroughly deep cleaned and extensively disinfected. We will continue this practice in each room and workspace after each patient visit.

Next Steps

We have built our practice, one patient, at a time, with individualized evaluations and treatment plans. This will not be compromised.

You will still get the same attention to detail and caring that our patients have come to expect—that is the only way I know how to do it. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Continue to stay safe and we’ll see you soon!

Warmly,
Aaron Smith and Team

I wanted to post a message for our patients regarding how we plan to handle treatment and cleanings over the next several weeks. As the COVID-19 situation continues to develop, we ask for your patience and flexibility during this time.

Your health is our primary concern. If you feel uncomfortable, uncertain, or unwell, for any reason, please let us know and we will be happy to reschedule your appointment for the future.

We plan to follow CDC, ADA, and government recommendations and guidelines throughout this time to ensure that we follow the most up-to-date protocol for infection control. Additionally, staff will continue to disinfect door handles, counters, tables. and other surfaces in our waiting room, kids area, and bathrooms frequently throughout the day. We have temporarily removed magazines, toys, and books from the waiting room as well. We are also providing a 1% hydrogen peroxide pre-rinse recommended by the ADA prior to all dental treatment.

We would ask that you try to arrive on time for appointments. If you would prefer to wait in your vehicle instead of the waiting room, please call the office from your car and we notify you when it’s time to bring you back.

We will continue to perform treatment and cleanings at this time, however we do ask that if you feel unwell, have cold/flu-like symptoms, a fever, or dry cough, to call the office at 503-325-1470 to reschedule. If it comes to the point where we need to close the office for a time, we will let you know as soon as possible.

So in short, let’s all stay healthy, positive, and flexible during this time!

Sincerely,
Dr. Aaron Smith

Way to go Clatsop County Health Authority and ASD!

Astor Elementary would like to thank the Oregon Health Authority in partnership with Providence Health Smiles! Through their dental sealant program, they screened 143 students with 72 students receiving sealants for a value of $6932.49. The dental group found that 22% of the children who were screened were in need of treatment due to active decay, infection, or injury. It was a very successful program with 48% of students returning their permission slips to be screened. We are thankful for the partnership that provides this service.
