Meet Theo, our new office pup! Our girls have been asking for a dog for years, so when the Aspen Animal Shelter mentioned this guy, it was an immediate yes for our family.

She wanted natural, not perfect. This youthful 70-something, part-time Aspen woman wanted a brighter, fresher smile to match how young she feels. Nothing fake or overly done, just a more youthful look.

A decade after her partner transformed his smile, she decided it was her turn. So we went a little broader, a little brighter, and kept plenty of natural variation, just as nature intended. Everyone was thrilled with the result!

The Algo: The mathematical formula I developed to solve for the ideal smile and bite, where form and function, health and aesthetics converge. The only one of its kind in dentistry.

Sometimes, patients want subtle improvement.

This young woman, who grew up in Aspen, did Invisalign with us in her early 20s. She later moved away and stopped wearing her retainer/night guard combination. When she returned 12 years later, she had some minor crowding in her lower teeth and uneven wear, along with a strong recollection of our earlier conversations about whiter vs. more white and adding tooth volume to her smile.

This time, she was ready to add that volume.

After a short round of Invisalign to touch things up, we added volume, but just a bit. She wasn’t looking for ideal, just a slight improvement toward it.

It was just enough to give her the confidence boost she was looking for.

This Aspen woman had a good smile, but noticed her teeth were starting to wear and her lips were thinning. So we designed an Ageless Smile for her that gave her a bit more lip support, restored the wear, and gave her an overall brighter appearance.

Our in-house ceramist focused on the properties of natural teeth, including variations in shading, translucency, texture and even (faux) crack lines. Our Ageless Smile™️ supports the face, creates fuller lips, and adds harmony between the teeth and curve of the lower lip.

This month on The Blind Spot:

You’ve had this moment. The hygienist finishes your cleaning, glances at her notes and says it almost as an afterthought: “Just a little bleeding back here. Nothing to worry about.”

You nod. You forget about it before you’ve left your parking spot. That sentence may be the most dangerous thing said in your dentist’s office all year.

Ask yourself: What other part of your body do we consider fine if it bleeds every time we wash it? If your scalp bled every time you brushed your hair, you’d call a doctor that afternoon. If your skin bled in the shower, you’d assume something was seriously wrong. Somewhere along the way, we decided gums were the exception. They’re not.

Every smile deserves a personalized plan.

This gentleman wanted to improve his smile and bite conservatively. We found the perfect plan for HIM, which is our number one goal for all of our patients

Step 1: Invisalign to properly align his teeth and create the ideal foundation.
Step 2: Our Ageless Whitening Process to brighten his smile.
Step 3: To restore years of wear, we placed veneers on just his two upper front teeth and four lower teeth.

The result? A vibrant, youthful smile that still looks completely natural.
