Q: Does MARPE actually hurt? 🦷
Yes, there can be some soreness or discomfort, especially during the adjustment period — but for most patients, it’s nothing that requires more than Motrin to keep it manageable.
What you may notice even more than pain is pressure as the expander begins doing its job. That pressure is normal and usually becomes easier as your mouth adjusts.
A little discomfort for a big change in the right direction. 🤍
