Let's bust a big one today:

🚫 Myth: "Baby teeth don't really need fillings because they fall out anyway."

✅ Truth: Untreated cavities in baby teeth can cause pain, infection, and can actually affect how permanent teeth develop underneath.

Baby teeth aren't just temporary — they're holding space, guiding development, and helping kids chew and speak properly right now.

Treating cavities in baby teeth isn't unnecessary — it's genuinely important for your child's overall health and comfort.

🦈 In honor of summer and everything ocean-related…

Sharks grow thousands of teeth in their lifetime — a new row comes in every time one falls out. Some sharks go through up to 50,000 teeth! 🤯

Meanwhile, kids get exactly two sets. Twenty baby teeth, thirty-two adult teeth — and that's the whole lineup.

Which is honestly a great reason to take really good care of set number two. 🦷

One question we get a lot as kids get older:
"How do I know if my child needs braces or orthodontic treatment?"

Here's the thing — pediatric dentists are actually the first line of defense in spotting orthodontic concerns. During routine visits, we watch for:

👀 Crowding as permanent teeth come in
👀 Early or late loss of baby teeth
👀 Crossbites, overbites, or underbites developing
👀 Jaw alignment concerns

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends an orthodontic evaluation by age 7 — not because every child needs treatment, but because early monitoring makes a huge difference.

If we ever notice something worth keeping an eye on, we'll always let you know. 💙

Summer is basically a parade of sugary drinks — lemonade, sports drinks, juice pouches, slushies, you name it. 🍹

Here's something worth knowing: it's not just WHAT kids drink, it's HOW they drink it.

Sipping a sugary drink slowly over an hour actually does more damage than drinking it quickly in one sitting. Why? Because the longer sugar stays in contact with enamel, the more time bacteria have to create acids.

Simple swap that helps: offer water between every sugary drink and encourage kids to finish sweet drinks in one sitting rather than carrying them around all day.

Small habit. Big difference.

If you've been thinking about switching your child to a pediatric dental specialist — or finding their very first dentist — we want you to know what walking through our doors actually feels like.

From the moment you arrive, our goal is simple: make sure both you AND your child feel completely at ease.

That means:
✔️ A warm, kid-friendly environment
✔️ A team that explains everything before it happens
✔️ Doctors who take time to actually listen
✔️ Zero judgment — just great care

New patients are always welcome, and we love getting to meet new families and their little smiles.

Everyone focuses on teeth and gums, but your tongue is a surprisingly important player in oral health! 👅

Here's what most people don't know:
✔️ Bacteria actually live on the surface of the tongue
✔️ A clean tongue means fresher breath
✔️ Gently brushing the tongue is part of a complete brushing routine

Next time your child brushes, remind them to give their tongue a little swipe too. It takes about five extra seconds and makes a real difference.

💬 Does your child already brush their tongue? Or is this news to them? Tell us below!

Summer officially has the wheel now, and while we love the slower mornings and later bedtimes, we know what that can quietly do to brushing routines. 😅

Late nights mean exhausted kids who "forget" to brush. Vacation schedules throw off everything. Sugary summer drinks sneak in more than usual.

No guilt here, it happens to every family. But here's a little trick that actually works:

👉 Tie brushing to something that's already happening. Morning brush right after breakfast. Night brush right before the movie or book routine starts.

When brushing connects to something kids already do, it stops feeling like a chore and starts feeling automatic.

Summer break is basically knocking on the door. ☀️

Before your family disappears into beach trips, road adventures, and lazy mornings - make sure your child's smile is ready for the season.

A quick checkup now means one less thing to think about all summer long. And kids who visit regularly stay ahead of any little issues before they turn into bigger ones.

Let's send those smiles into summer strong. 💪

Did you know that no two people have the exact same smile? ✨

Just like fingerprints, every child's teeth are completely unique - from the shape and spacing to the way they bite down. Even identical twins have different dental patterns!

That's actually one of the reasons we love pediatric dentistry so much. Every little patient who walks through our door brings a one-of-a-kind smile that deserves one-of-a-kind care.

Pretty cool, right?

💬 Tell us - what's your child's most unique smile feature? A gap, a dimple, a super snaggle tooth they're waiting to lose? Drop it below! 👇
