Our History Is the History of Osseointegration.

In 1982, Professor Per-Ingvar BrΓ₯nemark, widely recognized as the β€œFather of Implant Dentistry”, introduced the groundbreaking science of osseointegration to North America.

Inspired by his work, a small group of clinicians came together to study, share and advance this emerging science. That group would eventually become the Academy of Osseointegration (AO).

From those pioneering beginnings to an international community of implant dentistry professionals, AO has remained committed to the same principles that brought our founders together: science, education, collaboration and better patient care.

More than four decades later, the science continues to evolve and AO continues to carry that legacy forward.

Our roots run deep. Our mission moves forward.

Don't miss this exciting webinar presented by: Giulia Brunello, DDS, PhD on Bone Lid Technique: Modern Concepts and Applications.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 18 - NOON EDT

The Bone Lid Technique has evolved with the introduction of piezoelectric surgery, which enables highly controlled and precise osteotomies while minimizing trauma to adjacent soft tissues.

More recently, the integration of computer-guided planning has further refined the approach by enabling the design of accurate and reproducible cutting trajectories. Dr. Brunello will examine how these advancements have improved surgical predictability and facilitated the precise repositioning of the bony window.
