🦷❤️ Meet, Bree! ❤️🦷

It’s Dental Hygiene Month, and we’re excited to introduce you to another one of our amazing hygienists at Sudberry Dental! 🪥✨

A little bit about Bree! 👇🏼

Bree has been a dental hygienist for 17 years and has been part of the Sudberry Dental family for 14 of those years! ❤️ Her favorite part of being a hygienist is building relationships with her patients. Over the years, those relationships become so much more than appointments… her patients become like family! 🥹❤️

When she’s not busy taking care of smiles, you can find Bree spending time with her husband of 14 years, Clayton, and their two kids, Witten (11) and Bo (7). She loves playing catch with the kids, cheering on sports, hunting, and making memories with her family. 🏈🏹

Her favorite part about working at Sudberry Dental? The AWESOME team, the fun atmosphere, and getting to work alongside her sister, Te! 🥰❤️

🦷DENTAL HYGIENE MONTH TIP #2🦷

“My gums bleed when I floss…so I stopped flossing.” 👀

We hear this one ALL the time. But bleeding gums aren’t a reason to stop flossing!

Bleeding can be a sign that your gums are inflamed from plaque buildup. When you start cleaning between your teeth consistently, your gums may bleed at first—but healthy gums shouldn’t regularly bleed.

🪥 Brush twice a day
🧵 Clean between your teeth daily
🦷 Keep up with your regular hygiene appointments

And if your gums continue to bleed, are swollen, tender, or bleed easily, let your hygienist or dentist know. It may be a sign that something needs a little more attention.

Basically…don’t fire your floss just because your gums are mad about it. 😂

🦷✨ MEET TE! ✨🦷

We’re celebrating Dental Hygiene Month by introducing you to the amazing hygienists who take such great care of our patients! 💙

Te graduated from the OU School of Dental Hygiene in 2008. She spent two years working for IHS before joining Sudberry Dental in 2011—and she’s been part of our team ever since!

She’s been married to her husband, Gary Joe, for 22 years, and together they have two children, Hadley, 17, and Tate, 14. When she’s not at the office, you can usually find her chasing her kiddos to their various activities, volunteering through school and church, enjoying the outdoors, or spending time with family.

And her favorite way to start the day? A quiet early morning with a cup of coffee and her Bible. ☕️📖

A few things you might not know about Te…

🦷 How long have you been a dental hygienist?
15 years!

💙 What’s your favorite part of working at Sudberry Dental?
“I love the laughter and fun we have here. We accept each other for who we are, and we know when someone is having a bad day—we back off and give them space.”

🌅 Morning person or night owl?
Morning. 100%!

🍁 Summer or fall?
Fall! 🍁

Favorite excuse you’ve heard for not flossing?
“Because I floss them once every 6 months.”

👩‍🏫 If you weren’t a hygienist, what would you be doing?
Working at a school or church.

2–3x a week. 😅

“I love the relationships I have with my patients. They become like family.”

“Something I do that they may not know about..I ask about them and their family and I will pray from them during their cleaning!”

🦷 IT’S DENTAL HYGIENE MONTH! 🦷

All month long, we’re putting the spotlight on the people who help keep your smile healthy—our amazing hygienists! 👏🏼

Each week, we’ll be sharing something educational about your oral health, from what your hygienist is actually looking for during your cleaning to common dental myths and things you can do at home to keep your gums and teeth healthy.

This week we’re talking about what your hygienist is actually looking for during your cleaning!

Your hygienist is checking for:

🦷 Gum inflammation and bleeding
🦷 Periodontal disease
🦷 Areas where plaque/tartar builds up
🦷 Recession and sensitivity
🦷 Changes in your mouth that may need your dentist’s attention

Your hygienist is basically doing a little detective work every time you’re in the chair. 🕵🏼‍♀️🦷

So next time they’re poking, measuring, and asking a million questions…just know there’s a reason behind it! 😉
