Another semester in the books! 🦷📚✨

Our dental hygiene students have officially completed their spring / summer semester!

The Juniors celebrated an exciting milestone with their first OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination), putting their developing clinical knowledge, skills, and confidence to the test. We are so proud of the growth they’ve shown and can’t wait to see what’s ahead!

The semester also brought a special tradition, the White Coat Ceremony, celebrating their continued journey toward becoming compassionate, skilled dental hygiene professionals.

And one of the most meaningful parts of the ceremony is our Bigs tradition! Each senior student is paired with a junior student to serve as their “Big,” offering encouragement, guidance, advice, and mentorship as they navigate the dental hygiene program. It’s a wonderful way to build connections, strengthen our dental hygiene family, and remind our students that they never have to go through this journey alone.

Congratulations to all of our dental hygiene students on completing another semester! Your hard work, perseverance, and dedication continue to shine. We are so proud of you and excited for all that the next chapter will bring! 🦷💛💙

Our student chapter of ADHA recently hosted a Lunch & Learn featuring UMDH alumna, Madison Scott, BSDH, COM®, CertBBM, Class of 2010, and owner of Breathe Well Ann Arbor. Madison shared Part 1 of her presentation on myofunctional therapy, with Part 2 coming next semester!

Thank you, Madison, for an engaging and educational afternoon, and special thanks to Morgan Pham, our SADHA President, for coordinating this wonderful event! 💛💙

The incoming AS-MS and MSDH cohorts officially launched their educational journey with a two-day orientation last week! It was a valuable opportunity to build connections with classmates and faculty before beginning their online semester. We can’t wait to see all they accomplish throughout their programs! 🦷💻💛💙

Progress with every stroke! 🦷 Our first-year dental hygiene students are refining their instrumentation skills, most recently mastering the Gracey 1/2. As they demonstrate their technique and progress to classmates and faculty, they're building confidence and strengthening the clinical skills that will prepare them for patient care. Every practice session brings them one step closer to clinical excellence! 💛💙
