🌟 Staff Spotlight: Hannah! 🌟

Meet Hannah, one of our wonderful dental hygienists! 💛🦷

Hannah is a 2025 graduate of the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. Before becoming a hygienist, she spent several years working as a pediatric dental assistant, giving her a longstanding passion for helping little smiles.

While at U of M, Hannah received the Special Care Award for her dedication to caring for individuals with special needs. She spent extensive time in the Integrated Special Care Clinic and takes great pride in helping every child feel comfortable, supported, and cared for at their own pace.

Outside of Blossom, Hannah loves spending time with her husband, Tyler, and their three kids, Jameson, Jackson, and their newest little addition, Maddison! You can often find her cheering on her boys at their sporting events or relaxing with a good book. 📚

We're so grateful for the compassion, patience, and experience Hannah brings to our patients and families each day!

Ever wonder how braces actually move teeth? 🦷

Braces use gentle, steady pressure to gradually guide teeth into new positions. As pressure is applied, the bone and tissues around each tooth slowly adapt, allowing the tooth to move over time.

That's also why those regular orthodontic visits matter! Your orthodontic team monitors progress and makes adjustments along the way to keep everything moving in the right direction.

Pretty amazing what a little pressure and a lot of patience can do. 😊

October is National Orthodontic Health Month, making it the perfect time to learn a little more about how healthy, confident smiles take shape!

🦈 Why does my child have TWO rows of teeth?!

Seeing two rows of teeth in your child's mouth can definitely catch you by surprise!
Those “shark teeth” can happen when a permanent tooth begins coming in before the baby tooth in front of it has fallen out.

It's especially common with the lower front teeth as kids begin losing their baby teeth. In many cases, the baby tooth will eventually loosen and fall out, allowing the permanent tooth to move forward into a better position.

If that baby tooth isn't getting loose, the permanent tooth continues to erupt, or you're concerned about how your child's smile is developing, give your pediatric dentist a call. 🦷

Our dental hygienists help little ones learn how to care for their smiles, answer their questions, celebrate their progress, and build trust one visit at a time.

For some children, that means learning a new brushing technique. For others, it might mean taking things slowly, getting comfortable in the dental chair, or simply leaving the office feeling proud of what they accomplished.

This National Dental Hygiene Month, we're celebrating the amazing hygienists who help make positive dental experiences possible for our patients every day!

Waiting for the dentist can be part of the fun at Blossom.
Our lobby was designed with little patients in mind, including interactive wall activities that give kids something fun to explore before their visit begins.
It's one of the many little details we've incorporated into our space to help children feel comfortable, welcome, and excited to be here.
And sometimes... getting them to leave the activities is the hardest part. 😉🦷
