When asked what they’d most like to improve about their smile, most people responded that they wanted whiter teeth, according to a survey from the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. If you’re part of the majority on this and would like to make your smile brighter, ask our doctors about the teeth whitening options we offer here at Ankeny Family Dental Center. Professional teeth whitening is safer and more effective than at-home whitening techniques.

What happens if you don’t get a dental implant after losing a tooth? Several issues can arise over time, with two of the most notable being bone loss and shifting teeth. The jawbone can deteriorate where the tooth is missing because it no longer receives stimulation from chewing, leading to bone loss. Your adjacent teeth can also start to shift into the gap, causing misalignment and bite problems. If you’re missing a tooth, contact Ankeny Family Dental Center to learn more about dental implants and schedule your consultation with our doctors!

Let Ankeny Family Dental Center help you bridge the gap - if you have a gap between your two front teeth that you'd like to fix, dental bonding can be a quick and easy solution. our doctors can make your gap disappear with a tooth-colored resin that blends seamlessly with your natural teeth.

First, our doctors will meticulously select a shade of composite resin that perfectly matches your existing teeth for a seamless appearance. Then, the surface of the tooth is gently roughened to create a strong bond for the composite resin. Our team will then skillfully shape and mold the tooth-colored resin onto the prepared tooth surface. A special blue light is used to harden the composite resin, permanently bonding it to your tooth. Once hardened, we will refine the shape and polish the bonded area to ensure a smooth, natural look and comfortable bite.
