Do you know what to do if your prosthesis breaks while you're away from home or traveling?

It's something most amputees probably don't think about until it happens. Whether you're on vacation, traveling for work, or just a few hours from home, having a plan can save you a lot of headaches.

A few things to remember:

Keep your prosthetist's contact information handy.

Know what your warranty covers.

Have a backup plan for mobility.

Don't attempt to walk on a damaged prosthesis that may be unsafe.

A test socket allows your prosthetist to evaluate the fit, make adjustments, and identify pressure areas before moving forward with your definitive socket.

Your definitive socket is designed for long-term use, but getting the fit right starts with the testing process.
