Dr. Marsha A. Gordon

Through Dr. Marsha Gordon’s dental training at the Medical College of Virginia’s School of Dentistry, she realized the joy she could bring her young patients after performing a routine cleaning and presenting them a prize for their efforts (sugar free, of course). As a result, Dr. Gordon has spent her entire career ensuring that every child receives specialized individual attention that ensures fundamental dental health. Her dedication to patient care has not gone unnoticed both locally and nationally as “Lehigh Valley’s Select Dentist” and “TopDentist.” Dr. Gordon, furthermore, continues to hold the position of Diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry as well as a long-standing member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. In addition, Dr. Gordon is also the chairman of Pediatric Dentistry at Lehigh Valley Hospital Network. Beyond her private practice experience, Dr. Gordon currently aids on numerous volunteer initiatives including: the Autism Walk & dental education in local area schools. Dr. Gordon was also recently offered two prestigious grants: (1) involves a collaboration with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry with the Head Start of the Lehigh Valley; and (2) partners with the State of Pennsylvania Medical and Dental Community with a program entitled, Healthy Teeth/Healthy Children. Dr. Gordon received her Bachelor’s degree from Goucher College, her Doctorate of Dental Sciences and her certification in Pediatric Dentistry from the Medical College of Virginia. Along with her husband, David, Dr. Gordon remains a long-time resident of Allentown with three grown children: Michael, Steven, and Harris (all of whom regularly brush their teeth twice a day after years of successful encouragement from their mother).

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends stopping pacifier use by around age 3. Once baby teeth begin to come in, continued use can affect how teeth and the bite develop and may even impact speech over time. We know it can be a tough habit to break, but a gentle and positive approach can make it easier for your child!
