Other than brushing your teeth twice a day, the amount of time you spend doing this is also important!

According to the Academy of General Dentistry, the average American only brushes for around 40 to 75 seconds every day—which is less than half of what they’re supposed to.

Try cleaning your teeth for 2 to 3 minutes during each session, allowing you to be as thorough as possible to maintain a healthy smile!

Doing so can trap moisture and encourage the growth of microbes and harmful bacteria that lead to oral health issues, according to the American Dental Association.

Make sure to rinse your brush off with hot water after brushing your teeth and put it far away from contaminants in an upright position, completely uncovered so that it can air dry!

Speaking of these products, what kinds of toothbrushes are your favorite? Tell us about it in the comments.
