Last week, Kayla started her senior year, and I’ve been much more emotional about it than I expected.
I know I’m not the only mom watching her child begin senior year, or dropping them off at college, wondering how it all went by so quickly.
Kayla, I love doing life with you. I love traveling the world with you, shopping, getting dressed up, dancing on tables, and making TikToks together.
I love our late night talks, coming into your room and talking for hours while you do your skincare routine. I love your laugh, how much you love your brother, and how you laugh at everything he says and does. I even love watching you walk into my closet and leave wearing my clothes, shoes, purses, and jewelry.
More than anything, I’m proud of the young woman you’ve become. Your grace, wisdom, values, high standards, and the way you know your worth. I love your old soul and how deeply connected you are to your Lebanese heritage.
I’ve earned diplomas, built businesses, and accomplished many things, but raising a daughter like you will always be my greatest accomplishment.
I’m so proud of you, but I’m not quite ready for this chapter to end.
Moms of seniors and college kids, please tell me I’m not the only one feeling this emotional. 🤍
