Early intervention can completely change a child’s long-term outcome.
This patient presented with congenitally missing lower central incisors—a situation that requires careful planning, not just for today, but for adulthood. Due to the way the supporting bone around the lower laterals was developing, future implants were unlikely to be a predictable option.
Instead of waiting and risking limited solutions later, we made a proactive decision:
✔️ Extract retained primary teeth
✔️ Begin space closure with a lower lingual arch and braces
✔️ Plan for upper extractions to create a balanced, functional bite
This approach allows us to use the patient’s natural growth to our advantage—creating a stable, esthetic result without relying on future implants.
Early treatment isn’t about doing more—it’s about doing what’s right, at the right time.
