A lot has changed in the world of Dentistry since the Covid-19 pandemic started last year. At Comprehensive Family Dentistry (and Dr. Ghanbari & Associates), we have taken many measures to ensure the safety of our dental patients, our families, and our staff.
Our dental office screens patients prior to arrival, making sure they have not been exposed (or come in close contact to anyone that has been exposed) to the Coronavirus. We have increased our PPE, wearing not just one facemask (ahhh the good old days!) but additional facemasks of varying strength on top of one another. Long gone are the days of white lab coats, in are the days of layering up gowns and disposable coats on top of gowns, and wardrobe changes in between patients. Goggles are now pushed aside, as face shields are now being worn (on top of the many layers of masks!). Hair coverings add a lovely touch to the whole ensemble.
In addition to the doctor and staff's new and improved attire, the office has seen a few changes as well. Our waiting room furniture has been moved around a bit to ensure social distancing, and we are limiting the amount of patients allowed in the waiting room. Conversations between front desk staff & patients are held at a 6 foot distance – or – through our new beautifully shiny plexi-glass divider.
While these new additions and measures may seem scary, it is important for us to remember that we haven't beaten this pandemic yet. Healthcare professionals & dentists were amongst the first members of the community to be given the opportunity to receive the Covid-19 vaccine. Our dental office has taken this opportunity to get vaccinated and help in the fight against Covid-19. That's right, we rolled up our sleeves and did what was best for our patients!
Hopefully, sometime in the near future, we can take down the plexi-glass that separates us from each other, we can take off the layers and layers of space suits, masks & helmets, and maybe one day - just maybe - you'll be able to see your dentist's face again.
We love you all and hope to see you soon! If you have not had your 6 month dental check up please call to schedule it, your smile needs you :)
