Originally from Albany, Oregon, Dr. Courtney is thrilled to be caring for children and families in the community she proudly calls home. She earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Oregon Health & Science University and completed her pediatric dental residency at Texas A&M University in Dallas, Texas.

Dr. Courtney will be our primary pediatric dentist at our Salem office and will also see patients in our Albany office on Fridays, as well as helping care for families at both locations whenever needed.

Dr. Courtney is passionate about providing progressive, high-quality care in a fun, welcoming, and stress-free environment. With her easy-going, outgoing personality, she has a special way of helping kids feel comfortable while creating positive dental experiences tailored to each child's unique needs. She believes that building trust and lasting relationships with families is the foundation for a lifetime of healthy smiles.

When she's not caring for patients, you'll likely find her traveling, cooking, golfing, working on puzzles, or spending time with her husband, family, and friends.

Hi PDA Family! Our office will be closed tomorrow July 3rd in observance of Independence Day. 💙❤️🇺🇸

Our office phone number will have an on call option for any TRUE dental emergencies. Any non emergent calls will be returned on Monday.

Happy Monday to our PDA Family!

We hope you all had a wonderful Father’s Day weekend. We are so thankful for all the amazing dads out there. We see the many ways you show up each day and take on so much, often with a grace and patience that not everyone can master.

Thank you for your dedication, love, and support. Your impact does not go unnoticed, and we appreciate all that you do.

We also wanted to update any newer followers with some office information in case you are totally new to our page/ practice.

Our office is located up in North Albany. *We also have a Salem location Pediatric Dental Associates of Salem*

Our primary doctor in Albany is Dr. Jay Vaikuntam, known by his patients simply as "Dr. Jay". He's made this practice what it is today. Loved by both his patients and their families, he prides himself in patient care and truly does his best to make sure each child feels comfortable and excited after each visit. EVEN TREATMENT VISITS!

👯‍♀️Our practice is made up hygienists, assistants, and admin staff. Each member dedicated to making your child's life (and yours) easier!

Some things that make our office special other than our amazing Doctor and staff:

🛝Playhouse in the waiting area putting your child at ease and feeling excited as soon as they enter.

🧩Magic Closet! Special prizes for young patients who have big appointments to get through.

🎬Mounted TVs above the operatory chairs. Hey, sometimes a simple distraction during a cleaning or treatment appointment is just the thing to get your kiddo through it!

There are many more exciting pieces of the PDA puzzle that make us so successful, but we could not do it without you all. Thank you for the referrals, and the word of mouth recommendations that we get so often. Your support means everything.

We are currently taking new patients and do not have a long wait time for appointments. So call us today if you are needing care established or if it's been awhile since you've been in! We're always happy to help!🫶🏼

We have an important update for our patient families 💙

The Oregon Dental Services plan through OHP that we have previously been able to bill and accept has made changes to its network, and as part of this update, patients covered under this plan are being reassigned to other participating dental offices as of May 1st, 2026.

Our understanding is that this change will apply to all patients on the ODS plan in Linn, Benton, and Lincoln county. This decision was made by the dental plan itself and is not due to a contract change initiated by our office.

We understand this may feel unexpected, and we’re here to support you during the transition. If you have questions about your child’s care, records, or next steps, please reach out—we’re happy to help.

We are deeply saddened by this change. It has always been Dr. Jay and Pediatric Dental Associates pleasure to take care of families in this area, including Oregon Health Plan patients with this dental plan and unfortunately we were given very little notice of this change. We have begun calling families with kiddo's scheduled in early May so that you may call the new office to get established and get on their schedule.

Since our schedules our booked out six months in advanced, please call the office if this may affect your child's scheduled appointment with us. We can discuss your options and let you know if we are able to keep them on the schedule. Families on the dental plan are supposed to be receiving a letter notifying them of this change and where they will be assigned, so keep an eye out for that in the mail.

Again, we are very sorry for any inconvenience this causes in your schedule and in your child's dental care. We are here to help in any way we can.
